Coining

Japanese: coinning
Coining

...Pots and kettles are made by a method called spinning, in which a thin sheet of metal is placed on a potter's wheel and pressed with a spatula to squeeze it into shape. Money used to be minted coins, but today it is forged by stamping a thin sheet of metal with a press, a process called coining. The exterior and interior panels of automobiles, and stainless steel and enamel bathtubs are almost all made by pressing thin sheet of metal into shape.
