...Many species have developed various habits, such as males and females displaying and building nests before spawning, and males guarding the eggs. There are also cleaner fish that feed mainly on external parasites of larger fish. This species is also known for its habit of sleeping at night, and some aquariums have tanks with reversed day and night, allowing people to observe fish such as the Japanese stingray (illustration) burrowing into the sand to sleep.
