[Titanium(II) chloride]
Chemical formula: TiCl ₂ . A dark reddish brown powder obtained by mixing titanium(IV) chloride TiCl ₄ with hydrogen and reducing it with low electrodeless discharge. Specific gravity: 3.13. Decomposes in air, water, ethyl alcohol, etc. Easily oxidized.
[Titanium(III) chloride]
Anhydrous _TiCl3 and hydrates are known. _TiCl3 is a deliquescent purple crystal obtained by reducing _TiCl4 with excess hydrogen at 650°C.

　化学式TiCl₂。塩化チタン(IV)TiCl₄を水素と混合し，低無電極放電で還元すると得られる暗赤褐色粉末。比重3.13。空気中，水，エチルアルコールなどで分解する。酸化されやすい。
［塩化チタン(III)］
　無水和物TiCl₃と水和物が知られている。TiCl₃は，TiCl₄を650℃で過剰の水素によって還元すると得られる潮解性の紫色結晶。
