Lead Monoxide - Issan Kanamari

PbO(223.20). Also called lead(II) oxide, lead oxide, or litharge. When metallic lead powder is heated in air, yellow (β-form) to red (α-form) lead(II) oxide is obtained. The yellow form is tetragonal. Density 9.63 g cm ^-3 . Melting point 888 °C, boiling point 1470 °C. The red form is tetragonal. Density 9.53 g cm ^-3 . Melting point 900 °C. It is an amphoteric compound that dissolves in nitric acid and alkali as lead(II) compounds and lead(II) salts, respectively, but is practically insoluble in water. It is used in lead glass, crystal glass, and lead glaze, as a raw material, ceramics, pigments, paints, drying agents, rubber vulcanization accelerators and accelerator assistants, synthetic rubber vulcanizing agents, vinyl chloride stabilizers, and medicines (anti-inflammatory drugs). PbO(223.20)．酸化鉛(Ⅱ)，密だ僧，リサージともいう．金属鉛の粉末を空気中で加熱すると，黄色(β形)～赤色(α形)の酸化鉛(Ⅱ)が得られる．黄色形のものは正方晶系．密度9.63 g cm^－3．融点888 ℃，沸点1470 ℃．赤色形のものは正方晶系．密度9.53 g cm^－3．融点900 ℃．両性化合物で硝酸，アルカリにそれぞれ鉛(Ⅱ)化合物，亜ナマリ酸塩となって溶けるが，水にはほとんど溶けない．鉛ガラス，クリスタルガラス，鉛釉の原料，セラミックス，顔料，ペイント，乾燥剤，ゴムの加硫促進剤および促進助剤，合成ゴム加硫剤，塩化ビニル安定剤，医薬品(消炎薬)などに用いられる．劇薬，有毒．[CAS 1317-36-8:PbO][CAS 1311-11-1:3PbO･H₂O]
