Erfurter Programme

This platform was adopted at the Erfurt Congress of the German Social Democratic Party in October 1891, and served as the party's guideline until it was replaced by the Görlitz Platform in 1921. The platform was based on a resolution of the St. Gallen Congress (1887) of the party's predecessor, the German Socialist Workers' Party, and accepted Engels' criticism of the draft. The principles were drafted by Kautsky and the practical parts by Bernstein, and the platform as a whole is almost entirely Marxist. The principles explain the contradictions that the economic development of bourgeois society inevitably produces, and the need for the working class to gain political power, while the practical parts call for ten points, such as universal, equal and direct suffrage, and five worker protection policies, such as an eight-hour workday.

1891年10月、ドイツ社会民主党のエルフルト大会で採択され、1921年のゲルリッツ綱領にかえられるまで同党の指針となった綱領。綱領は、同党の前身ドイツ社会主義労働者党のザンクト・ガレン大会（1887）の決議に基づき、草案に寄せたエンゲルスの批判をも受け入れ、原則的部分をカウツキー、実践的部分をベルンシュタインが起草し、全体としてほぼマルクス主義によって貫かれている。原則的部分では、ブルジョア社会の経済的発展が自然必然的に生み出す諸矛盾と、労働者階級による政治権力の獲得の必要性が説かれ、実践的部分では、普通・平等・直接選挙権など10項目、および8時間労働など5項目の労働者保護政策が要求されている。
