...A fold whose axis is thinner than its wings is called a thin-top fold. There are also various terms for this fold, such as a chevron fold, which has straight wings and sharp hinges, a conjugate fold, which has two equal axial planes, and a discontinuous axial plane, which has hinges offset from one another on each fold surface. There are also terms based on the shape of the fold surface, such as a box fold and a fan fold.
