CBC - Canadian Broadcasting Corporation

CBC - Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Founded in November 1936, Canadian public broadcasting organization. It operates two national radio and two television networks in Canada's official languages, English and French. Each network is made up of CBC-operated stations and private commercial stations across the country. It is funded by government subsidies and advertising revenues. The license fee system was abolished in 1953. Canada's broadcasting business is operated by the public broadcaster CBC and other commercial broadcasting organizations. In addition to CBC, there are other networks on television, such as CTV (commercial television's English-language network), TVA (commercial television's French-language network), and Global (6 commercial television stations in Ontario). Most of the population in Canada is concentrated along the border with the United States, and American television programs are actively watched, especially in large cities. As a countermeasure, the expansion and strengthening of Canadian programs is a major challenge for CBC and other Canadian broadcasting organizations.
