Dokkyo University - Dokkyo Daigaku

Private university. Founded in 1964 by philosopher Amano Teiyu, based on Dokkyo Gakuen, which aimed to transplant German culture. As of 2010, it consists of four faculties: Faculty of Foreign Languages, Faculty of International Liberal Arts, Faculty of Economics, and Faculty of Law, and four graduate schools: Law, Economics, Foreign Languages, and Legal Affairs. The founding spirit of the university is based on the words of its founder, "A university is a place for the development of human beings through academic study," and it is characterized by its thorough language education. It is located at 1-1 Gakuen-cho, Soka City, Saitama Prefecture.

私立。1964年(昭和39)、ドイツ文化の移植を目的とする独協学園を母体として、哲学者天野貞祐(ていゆう)によって創設された。2010年(平成22)時点で、外国語学部、国際教養学部、経済学部、法学部の4学部と、法学、経済学、外国語学、法務の4研究科の大学院からなる。「大学は学問を通じての人間形成の場である」との創立者のことばを建学の精神とし、徹底した語学教育を特徴としている。所在地は埼玉県草加(そうか)市学園町1-1。
