A town in Horoizumi District, Hokkaido. It includes Cape Erimo, the southernmost point of mainland Hokkaido. It has long been known as a place for collecting kelp. The town fishes for salmon and trout, and also practices dairy farming. The Hidaka Mountains are close to the east coast, and the Golden Road runs along the foot of the cliffs to Hiroo. 北海道幌泉(ほろいずみ)郡の町。北海道主部の最南端襟裳(えりも)岬を含む。古くからコンブの採集地として知られる。サケ，マスを漁獲し，酪農も行う。東海岸は日高山脈が迫り，絶壁の下を広尾に至る黄金道路が通じる。東日本大震災で，町内において被害が発生。284.00km2。5413人（2010）。
