Aymé - Marcel Aymé

Aymé - Marcel Aymé

French novelist and playwright. Born in Jonny, Burgundy, the son of a blacksmith. He lost his mother at an early age, and spent his childhood in poverty and solitude. After military service, he moved to Paris and changed jobs frequently. While working as a journalist, he tried his hand at writing novels, making his debut with "Brullebois" (1925). His most well-received work was "The Green Mare" (1933), and he established his own unique style that mixed fantasy and reality. After World War II, he began writing plays, starting with "Clerambault" (1950), a play about a visionary protagonist, followed by adaptations of Arthur Miller's works such as "Someone Else's Head" (1952), "The Birds in the Moon" (1956), "Louisiana" (1961), "The Minotaur" (1963), and "The Crucible" (1954).He further refined his style and became a writer of a new type of boulevard play, weaving humor and satire into a classically solid style.
