Brachial plexus

…In humans, the cervical plexus (formed by the anterior rami of the first through fourth cervical nerves), the brachial plexus (formed mainly by the anterior rami of the fifth through first thoracic nerves), the lumbar plexus (formed mainly by the anterior rami of the twelfth thoracic nerves through the fourth lumbar nerve), the sacral plexus (formed mainly by the anterior rami of the fourth lumbar nerve through the third sacral nerve), the pudendal plexus (formed mainly by the anterior rami of the second through fourth sacral nerves), and the coccygeal plexus (formed mainly by the anterior rami of the fourth and fifth sacral nerves and the anterior rami of the coccygeal nerve). The brachial plexus is connected to the axillary, musculocutaneous, median, ulnar, and radial nerves, which control the upper limbs. The brachial plexus is located near the base of the neck, so if the neck is pulled to one side with strong force during a traffic accident, the nerve fibers that make up the brachial plexus are easily damaged at their roots.
