A town in central Germany, 34km west of Bamberg, Bavaria. Population 1,700 (1971). Former site of a Cistercian monastery. The first Cistercian monastery in Franconia and the third in Germany was founded here in 1127. Construction of the current magnificent monastery building began in 1687 to a design by JL Dientzenhofer, and was completed in the 18th century by JB Neumann and others. Construction of the monastery church began in 1200 (consecrated in 1285), and was given a Baroque style by Materno Bossi at the end of the 18th century. ドイツ中部,バイエルン州バンベルクの西34kmにある町。人口1700(1971)。旧シトー会修道院の所在地。1127年ここにフランケン地方で最初,ドイツで3番目のシトー会修道院が創設された。現在の壮大な修道院の建物は,1687年にJ.L.ディーンツェンホーファーの設計により起工され,18世紀にJ.B.ノイマンらに引き継がれ完成した。修道院教会は1200年に起工され(1285献堂),18世紀末にボッシMaterno Bossiによりバロック化がなされた。
