Akenogahara

A plateau on the left bank near the mouth of the Miyagawa River in Obata Town, Ise City, in the central-eastern part of Mie Prefecture. It has an area of ​​about 4 square kilometers and an elevation of 10 to 20 meters. An old alluvial fan rose to form a plateau, and although it has been dissected, a wide continuous flat surface remains. Water was difficult to obtain and the area was once wilderness, but in 1920 (Taisho 9), the Akeno Flying School was opened there. After World War II, most of the area was opened to the Akeno Pioneers, but part of it became the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force's Flying School, where helicopter training is conducted.

三重県中東部、伊勢市(いせし)小俣(おばた)町の宮川河口近くの左岸にある台地。面積約4平方キロメートル、標高10～20メートル。古い扇状地が隆起して台地状となり、開析されながらも連続した平坦(へいたん)面が広く残ったもの。水が得にくく原野であったが、1920年（大正9）明野飛行学校が開設された。第二次世界大戦後、大部分は明野開拓団に開放されたが、一部は陸上自衛隊航空学校となり、ヘリコプター訓練が行われている。
