…They are also known as the Black Sheep Dynasty. In historical records they are known as Barānī. Their founder, Bayram Khwāja, gained independence from the Mongolian Jaraīlid dynasty in the 14th century and consolidated his power in eastern Anatolia and the Mosul region.
