…The organization consists of 11 Angas (the 12th is lost), 12 Uvangas, 10 Paiṇṇa, 6 Cheya-suttas, independent Nandi and Anuogaddhāra, and 4 Mūla-suttas, totaling 45 scriptures in 7 parts. The dates of the creation of each scripture vary, but the oldest are the Āyāra and Sūyagaḍa in the Angas, and the Uttarajjhayaṇa (or Uttarajjhāyā) and Dasaveyāliya in the Mūla-suttas. The last chapter of the first volume of the Āyāra contains the oldest and most reliable biography of Mahāvīra.
