(1) Merino breeds The Spanish Merino, which originated from sheep brought to Spain by the Romans, spread throughout the world as a wool breed that produces fine wool, and a series of Merino breeds were established, including the Australian Merino (illustration) in Australia, the Rambouillet Merino in France, the Saxony Merino in Germany, and the Delaine Merino in the United States. All of them are suitable for dry land and have excellent wool quality, but they are poor meat producers. …
