Nagamachi

Japanese: 長町 - ながまち

[1] A long, narrow town lined with houses. [2][1] The name of a place in Taihaku Ward, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture. During the Edo period, it was a post station on the Oshu Kaido between Nakata and Kitame (Sendai). [2] During the Edo period, it was a place name in Osaka. It corresponds to the area of Sakaisuji between Nihonbashi 1-3-chome in Chuo Ward and Nihonbashi 4-9-chome in Naniwa Ward in Osaka City today. *Ukiyo-zoshi Seken Munesanyo (1692), 2 "When I married my daughter off to Sakai, all the tools I took were from Imamiya to the gate of the shop in Fujinomaru, Nagamachi ."
