Moctezuma [II] - Moctezuma
The ninth emperor of the Aztec Empire (reigned 1502-1520). When Cortes and his men invaded, Moctezuma did not resist, believing them to be the reincarnation of the legendary god Quetzalcoatl, and was captured and killed. It is said that the treasure that Cortes and his men stole from Moctezuma was lost to the bottom of the sea when the ship he was on sank.
