Andoya (English spelling)

...The islands are connected by bridges and ferries, and ferry boats call at three ports on the west coast. There is a military airport on Andøya island in the north, and mesozoic layers of the same age as the oil-bearing layers on the seafloor are distributed fragmentarily. Oil exploration began on the northwest continental shelf in 1981, and several gas fields have already been discovered.
