Suspended scale

Japanese: つり秤 - つりばかり（英語表記）suspended scale

A general term for scales that are hung by hand or from a hook on a building or crane. For small weighing capacities, a spring type is used in which the top of a coil spring is supported and the item is hung from the hook at the bottom, balancing with the elasticity of the spring. For large weighing capacities, a lever type is used in which multiple levers are connected in series and balanced with a feed weight or additional weight, or a load cell or pressure type is used in which a resistance wire strain gauge is attached to an elastic body, the top of which is supported and the object is hung from a hook at the bottom. The load cell type is suitable for remote measurement and automatic measurement, and is often used for weighing capacities large because of its ease of handling.

手でぶら下げるか，建物やクレーンなどのフックにつり下げて使用するはかりの総称。秤量の小さいものにはコイルばねの上部を支え下部のフックに品物をつるし，ばねの弾力とつり合わせるばね式，大きなものには複数のてこを直列に連結し，送りおもりや増しおもりでつり合わせるてこ式，弾性体に抵抗線ひずみゲージを取り付け弾性体の上部を支え下部のフックに物体をつるすロードセル式や圧力式が用いられる。ロードセル式は遠隔測定，自動測定に適し，取扱いの容易さから秤量の大きなものにこの形式が多く使用されている。
