...The leaves contain laccol, and on contact they can cause a severe rash similar to that of sumac.

They are dicotyledonous plants that include the sumac tree, the wax tree (illustration), and the mango (illustration), and there are about 400 species in 60 genera. All of them are woody plants and are distributed mainly in the tropics, with some in temperate zones (Figure).
