Acetonemic vomiting

Japanese: acetonemic vomiting(英語表記)acetonemicvomiting
Acetonemic vomiting

...It is described as a disease seen in children around 2 to 10 years old, in which children suddenly lose energy and lethargy when they wake up, and sometimes during the day, and begin vomiting, with an increase in blood ketone bodies and acetoneuria. It is likely to occur repeatedly in the same child. This condition is medically called acetonemic vomiting or cyclic vomiting, and since the word "autointoxication" sounds like a completely unrelated food poisoning, it is now thought that the above diagnosis is more appropriate to describe this condition than the disease name autointoxication. Such symptoms can also be seen in encephalitis, meningitis, uremia, hepatitis, acute appendicitis, peritonitis, intussusception, brain tumors, and diabetic coma, so it is important to accurately differentiate these, and the disease (acetonemia) is diagnosed only when the cause is unclear. ...
