…At the end of the same year, Mutsu Province was divided into five provinces, and the Sendai Domain was restored with a reduced fief of 280,000 koku, with Sendai as the center. The northern part of the former territory was entrusted to the Tsuchiura Domain, Utsunomiya Domain, and Takasaki Domain, and the southern part was transferred to the Morioka Domain, which became the Shiroishi Domain. In the following year, 1669, the deposits were Wakuya Prefecture (later renamed Tome Prefecture), Kurihara Prefecture, and Monou Prefecture (later Ishinomaki Prefecture), and after the Shiroishi Domain was returned to its former territory, Shiroishi Prefecture (later Kakuda Prefecture) was established. Furthermore, Kurihara Prefecture was partly incorporated into Tome Prefecture, and then merged into Isawa Prefecture, but the following year Tome Prefecture merged the former Kurihara Prefecture area with Ishinomaki Prefecture. …

…同年末，陸奥国が5国に分割されるとともに，仙台藩が仙台を中心に28万石に削減されて復活，旧領北部は土浦藩，宇都宮藩，高崎藩に預けられ，南部には盛岡藩が移されて白石（しろいし）藩となった。翌69年預領はそれぞれ涌谷（わくや）県(のち登米（とめ）県と改称)，栗原県，桃生（ものう）県(のち石巻県)となり，白石藩が旧領に帰封された後には白石県(のち角田（かくだ）県)が置かれた。さらに栗原県は登米県に一部を編入したのち胆沢（いさわ）県に合併したが，翌年登米県は旧栗原県域と石巻県を併合した。…
