〘noun〙 A project to provide a new environment for those who have committed crimes or delinquent acts, or those at risk of doing so, particularly young boys and girls, and to provide them with corrective education. This term became common after the Russo-Japanese War and into the early Taisho period, and was called "reform and relief work" together with "relief work."
