...These include the international classifications SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) and CCCN (Customs Cooperation Council Nomenclature), the latter of which is currently being revised (as of 1983) to include a coding system (harmonized commodity description and coding system) called HSN (harmonized system nomenclature). In addition to the above, ICGS (International Standard Classification of Goods and Services) is expected to be established soon to include services. Domestically, the unique Japanese Standard Commodity Classification has been established, but it is an isolated system from an international perspective.
