Acanthosomatidae

…General term for insects in the family Acanthosomatidae of the order Hemiptera. Sometimes considered a subfamily of the family Hemiptera, the Acanthosomatidae has two tarsal segments with long spines on the ventral surface of the prothorax pointing toward the head, a flat keel on the ventral surface of the mesonothorax, and a sharp projection on the ventral surface of the third abdominal segment, each of which overlaps at the tip and rear.
