(1)中世末期に京都を中心に流行した風流(ふりゆう)踊の一種。若者が中心の踊りで,衣装や造り物の趣向を競った。また当時,若衆による能,狂言,踊りなどの芸能一座も頻出し,それらが母体となって若衆歌舞伎が生まれるが,その中心芸は舞の要素も加えた若衆の踊りで,総踊や業平躍(なりひらおどり),大小の舞などが知られる。(2)琉球の宮廷舞踊の一つ。少年が振袖袷衣装に赤地の引羽織をつけ,緋紗綾(さや)の足袋をはいて踊る。
