Wild West Show

The Buffalo Bill Show was organized in 1883 by the American Buffalo Bill. It was a show that presented the real-life wilderness of the West, and featured outdoor performances of cowboys on horseback, lassoing (rodeo) and gunfighting, as well as scenes of Indian stagecoach attacks and cavalry rescues. It also featured female marksman Annie Oakley and Sioux chief Sitting Bull, and toured Europe to great acclaim. However, it declined due to mismanagement and the rise of film, and was dissolved in 1913.

1883年，アメリカのバッファロー･ビルが組織したショー。西部の荒野の実際を見せるというふれこみで，カウボーイの曲馬，投げ縄(ロデオ)や鉄砲の妙技，インディアンの駅馬車襲撃および騎兵隊の救援のシーンなどを屋外で繰り広げた。女性の射撃の名手アニー･オークリーAnnie Oakleyやスー族の長シッティング･ブルなども出演，ヨーロッパにも巡業して大評判を得たが，放漫な経営や映画の発達によって衰微，1913年に解散した。
