[1] 〘Noun〙 ("玉" is a title of beauty)① A woman as beautiful as a jewel. A beautiful woman. Also, a respectful term for a person's wife. ※Ojoyoshu (984-985) Daibun 6 "Everything turns into flames and becomes a jewel . Sinners can look at it from afar and rejoice . " [Liji - Saitō]② A fairy. A heavenly maiden. ※Konjaku (around 1120) 10 "A fairy has no wife . A jewel maiden has no husband." [Chu Ci - Shisei] [2] The name of a deity worshipped in Onmyodo. Examples include Tagan Tamayome, Iroboshi Tamayome, and Tenno Tamayome. ※Daijingu Shozajiki (maybe in the 11th century) 1 "A jewel maiden sits before the emperor. She immediately radiates a golden light and proclaims it."
