A resort town in the northeastern part of New York State, USA. Population 2,490 (1980). Located in the Adirondack Mountains, at an altitude of about 550m, the settlement surrounds Mirror Lake. It is a popular summer resort and a popular ski and ice skating spot in the winter. It was the site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics.
