[Died] 1316.1? Bougie Spanish philosopher, theologian, and mystic. In Catalan, he was called Ramón Lull. Born into a non-Christian family, he converted to Christianity around 1263 after experiencing a divine encounter and decided to become a missionary. He preached in various parts of Europe and also traveled to Islamic countries in North Africa and the Near East, but was captured by Muslims in Bougie, North Africa, and stoned to death. The method he devised to convert Muslims to Christianity is called the "Great Art" (or the Art of Lull). This was a kind of symbolic computational method that constructed a comprehensive system of all academic disciplines in defense of his faith, and by establishing basic theories or concepts, he attempted to draw as many conclusions as possible from them, thereby proving the superiority of Christianity. He wrote 292 works, including theological and philosophical works, novels, and poems that discuss the existence of God and the Trinity.
