Ludianar
A city in northwest India, near the south bank of the Sutlej River in the state of Punjab. A distribution center for wheat, cotton, and wool. Specialties include shawls, turbans, and furniture. In recent years, the city has been developing with an industrial complex at its core. It has an agricultural university (established in 1962). Founded in 1480 during the Lodi dynasty. Population: 1,619,000 (2011).
