Nozawa ruins

Japanese:
Nozawa ruins
Located in Nozawa, Kunimoto-cho, Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture, this Yayoi period site has been famous since the Meiji era due to the large amount of pottery excavated there. It is located about 6km north of the center of Utsunomiya city, at an altitude of 170m, but on a low plateau with a height of 2-3m above the surrounding alluvial ground. It overlaps with sites from the late Jomon period, but the area where Yayoi pottery has been excavated is limited, and complete jars, human-faced pottery, and cylindrical beads have also been excavated, so it can be considered to be the site of what is now called a reburial tomb.
