Kagariyaban - Kagariyaban

Japanese: 篝屋番 - かがりやばん
Kagariyaban - Kagariyaban

...The burden of the Obanyaku varied depending on the era and the size of the estate, but in the middle period, the rule was that one officer was assigned to 12 units, with one officer working for six months. The official burden of the Gokenin was mainly in the form of guard duties, and there were other guard duties such as the Kamakura Obanyaku (12 units, January shift), which was mainly performed by Gokenin from the eastern provinces, the Foreign Guard Service (4 units, March shift), which was newly established for Kyushu samurai after the Mongol invasion, and the Nagato Guard Service, which was mainly performed by Gokenin from the Chugoku region. In addition, certain Gokenin who had territories in the western provinces lived in Kyoto as residents, and served as kagariya guards and tairotonoi guards under the command of the Rokuhara Tandai. Furthermore, certain vassals with distinguished ties from the eastern provinces generally resided in Kamakura, and belonged to the Kosamurai-dokoro, where they served as night watchmen (Kosamurai-ban, Koban, number 6, working one night a day), and held various guard posts within the palace, such as attendant guard, Shinji-ban, eaves guard, and lattice guard.
