Eiheiji [town] - Eiheiji
A town in the east of Fukui City, Yoshida District, Fukui Prefecture. The town is in front of Eiheiji Temple, and the Echizen Railway runs through the town from Fukui and Mikuni. There are many visitors to Eiheiji Temple and tourists. There are many forests, and the town is involved in agriculture, forestry, and textile manufacturing. In February 2006, Matsuoka Town and Kamishi Village in Yoshida District were incorporated, and the town hall became the old Matsuoka Town Hall. 94.43 km2 . Population 20,647 (2010).
