[Born] Sukjong 8 (1682) [Died] King Yeongjo 39 (1763) A scholar of practical studies during the Joseon Dynasty in Korea. His pen name was Jashin and his pen name was Seongho. He was from Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province. He dedicated his life to academic research and was a master of practical studies who inherited and developed the theories of Yu Hyeongwon. He was knowledgeable and made numerous achievements, especially in astronomy, geography, classics, history books, and medicine. He was also an advocate of reform of the rice field system rooted in physio-agriculturalism, and advocated the implementation of the land limit law. Many people, including Ahn Jeong-bok, came from his disciples. His main works are Seongho Hyeok Seol (30 volumes) and Oyu-rok.
