An Indian Buddhist philosopher who lived around 150-250. His Sanskrit name was Nagarjuna, and he is also translated as Nagarjuna. He is considered to be the same person as Nagarjuna, who built the foundations of Mahayana Buddhism and is said to be the father of the eight schools of Buddhism in China and Japan. He is especially known as Ryumyo in the field of esoteric Buddhism, and is respected as the person who first spread esoteric Buddhism to the world. However, historically, esoteric Buddhism is said to have been established around the 7th century, so there is a theory that a different person with the same name existed at that time. According to the Vajrapani Giketsu written by Fuku, Ryumyo recited the mantra of Mahavairocana Buddha and walked around a blocked iron tower for seven days, throwing seven white mustard seeds at the tower's gate, successfully opening the tower's door, and was given the Vajrapani Sutra, the fundamental scripture of esoteric Buddhism, by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas inside the tower.
