Lipopolysaccharide - Lipotat

Abbreviated as LPS. Also known as lipopolysaccharide. One of the endotoxin components that make up the cell wall of gram-negative bacteria, it consists of three regions: a specific polysaccharide chain portion, a core polysaccharide portion, and a lipid portion (lipid A). The specific sugar chain portion is highly diverse and differs depending on the type of bacteria. Lipid A contains glucosamine, fatty acids, and phosphate, and causes endotoxic shock.

略称LPS．リポポリサッカライドともよばれる．グラム陰性菌の細胞壁を構成する内毒素成分の一つで，特異多糖鎖部分，コア多糖部分，および脂質部(リピドA)の3領域からなる．特異糖鎖部位は多様性に富み，菌の種類によって異なる．リピドAはグルコサミン，脂肪酸，リン酸を含み，エンドトキシンショックの原因となる．
