According to documents from the early Meiji period, it began in 1628 (Kan'ei 5), when the first domain lord, Katsushige, designated the Iwayagouchi kiln as the domain kiln, and in 1661 (Kanbun 1), it moved to Minamikawara, and in 1675 (Enpo 3), it was located on Okawachiyama, which is now located in Nihonyanagi, Imari City. …有田焼を支配下におさめる鍋島藩は，藩の誇るこの磁器窯をもとに，特別に設けた御用窯で精巧な磁器をつくらせ，将軍，大名，公家などへの献上品とした。明治初年の文献によると，1628年(寛永5)に初代藩主勝茂が岩谷川内（いわやごうち）窯を藩窯に指定したのにはじまり，61年(寛文1)南川良（なんがわら）に移り，75年(延宝3)には現在の伊万里市二本柳にある大川内（おおかわち）山に立地したと伝えている。しかしこの年次および窯の位置については検証されておらず，判然としていない。…
