King of England from the House of Plantagenet (reigned 1189-1199). Son of Henry II. He participated in the Third Crusade and fought against Saladin (Salaad al-Din) of Egypt, earning him the nickname of the Lion Hearted. He was captured in Germany on his way back, but returned home after paying a ransom. He was killed in battle against King Philip II of France.

プランタジネット朝イングランド王（在位1189年―1199年）。ヘンリー２世の子。第３回十字軍に参加，エジプトのサラディン（サラーフ・アッディーン）と戦って勇名をあげ，獅子(しし)心王the Lion Heartedの異名を得た。帰途ドイツで捕らえられ，身代金を払って帰国。フランス国王フィリップ２世と交戦中戦死。
