Lijiang (English spelling)

Japanese: 灕江 - りこう（英語表記）Lí jiāng

Also called Ji River, it flows through the northeastern part of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. The Da Rong River originates from Miao'er Mountain on the border with Xing'an County, flows southwest to Yangshuo, and the downstream part is called Gui River. In Xing'an County, it is connected to the Ocean River upstream of the Xiang River by the Lingqu (Xianggui Canal), which was dug in the Qin Dynasty, and has been frequently used as a key route connecting the Central Plains and Lingnan since ancient times. The water is clear and crisp, and in the area of Guilin and Yangshuo, strange peaks of karst topography line both banks, and it is said that "Guilin's mountains and waters are the best in the world, and Yangshuo's mountains and waters are the best in Guilin," and many tourists from all over the world visit to enjoy river rafting.

灕水ともいい，中国広西チワン(壮)族自治区の北東部を流れる。源流の大溶江は興安県境にある苗児山に源を発し，南西に流れ陽朔に至り，それより下流は桂江と呼ばれる。興安県において湘江の上流の海洋河と秦代に掘られた霊渠（れいきよ）(湘桂運河)で結ばれていて，古来より中原と嶺南を結ぶ要路としてしばしば利用された。水は清く澄み，桂林，陽朔の一帯では両岸にカルスト地形の奇峰が連なり，〈桂林の山水は天下第一であり，陽朔の山水は桂林第一である〉といわれ，多数の川下りの観光客が世界中から訪れる。
