Japanese: 陸封 - りくふう

When an animal that lives in both saltwater and inland waters is confined to inland waters due to changes in topography or other environmental factors, it lives there for the rest of its life. Among invertebrates, the isazaami of Lake Kasumigaura is a landlocked species of mysid, and the seta corbicula of Lake Biwa is a landlocked species of corbicula. Among fish, the kokanee salmon is a landlocked species of sockeye salmon, the yamame salmon is a landlocked species of cherry salmon, and the koayu is a landlocked species of sweetfish. In general, they tend to become smaller.

一生のうちに海水にすむ時期と陸水にすむ時期とをもつ動物が，地形その他環境の変化によって陸水中に閉じ込められて終生そこで生活すること。無脊椎動物では，霞ヶ浦のイサザアミはアミの，琵琶湖のセタシジミはシジミの陸封型として有名。魚類では，ヒメマスはベニザケの，ヤマメはサクラマスの，コアユはアユの陸封種。一般に小型化の傾向をもつ。
