Chinese woodcarving artist. Born in Guangzhou, he studied in Japan after graduating from the Guangzhou School of Fine Arts. In 1934, while teaching at his alma mater, he organized the Modern Printmaking Research Society and promoted the woodcarving movement. After World War II, he served as a professor at the National College of Fine Arts in Beijing. His style is unique, combining realistic content with romantic colors.
