Rambouillet (English spelling)

A town in the Yvelines department in northern France, located about 50 km southwest of Paris. Surrounded by the Rambouillet Forest, which covers an area of about 13,000 hectares, it developed around the Château de Rambouillet. The château was built in the 14th century and was the residence or property of the Marquis de Rambouillet and his wife, Louis XVI, Napoleon I, and others. It was later purchased by the state and has been used as the presidential summer palace since 1897, and has hosted events such as the first G7 summit. The surrounding national forest contains a special hunting area directly under the president. Population: 25,293 (1990).

フランス北部，イブリーヌ県の町。パリの南西約 50kmに位置する。面積約1万 3000haのランブイエの森に囲まれ，ランブイエ城を中心に発展した。城は 14世紀に建設され，ランブイエ侯とその夫人，ルイ 16世，ナポレオン1世などの居城または所有となった。のち国が買収，1897年以来大統領の夏季宮殿として利用され，第1回主要国首脳会議 (サミット，1975) などが開催された。周囲の国有林には大統領直属の特別狩猟区がある。人口2万 5293 (1990) 。
