Naju - Rashu
A city in the central part of Jeollanam-do, South Korea, located in the Jeollanam-do Plain in the middle reaches of the Yeongsan River. Formerly known as Geumseong. It produces a lot of high-quality rice, and is also famous for cultivating pears, peaches, grapes, and other fruits using the sandy soil. It also has agricultural processing and chemical industries. Water transportation on the Yeongsan River has been well developed since ancient times, and it is also a junction of roads to the southern coastal areas such as Mokpo and Haenam, making it the transportation hub and center of the region. Population: 87,000 (2005).

韓国,全羅南道中央部,栄山江中流の全南平野にある都市。旧名は錦城。良質の米を多く産出し,砂質土壌を利用してナシ,モモ,ブドウなど果実栽培も有名。農作物加工,化学工業もある。古くから栄山江の水運が発達し,木浦,海南など南海岸地方への街道の分岐点でもあることから,交通の要衝としてこの地方の中心地となっている。人口8万7000人(2005)。
