...The hatched larvae spend the summer developing in shallow waters near the spawning grounds, and by autumn they have grown to 30-70 mm in length. As autumn deepens, they move to deeper waters to spend the winter. Anglers call the crucian carp caught during this season "Ochibuna." They often forage, likely to store up nutrients for the winter, so this is also a good time for crucian carp fishing, along with the spawning season.
