Pepi II (English spelling)

...The royal family's monopoly on high-ranking positions crumbled, and the trend toward hereditary office intensified. This trend accelerated in the 6th Dynasty, especially in the governorships, which became localized and more independent. When Pepi II's long reign of 94 years came to an end, royal authority became mere name. However, the 5th and 6th Dynasties were active in foreign trade, and trade expeditions were often sent to Nubia, the Sinai Peninsula, Byblos, and Punt (present-day Somalia), importing copper, spices, wood, ivory, and other materials.
