A combination of a radio receiver and a cassette tape recorder, commonly known as a radio cassette recorder. It was developed to satisfy the desire to record whatever parts of the radio you want onto a tape and then play it back whenever you want. Thanks to technological innovations such as integrated circuits and cassette tape recorders, it has become smaller and cheaper, and has spread rapidly since the 1970s. Initially, it was used mainly for recording and playing back language programs on the radio, but recently it has been used mainly for music programs.
