48 Revolution - 48 Year Revolution

Japanese: 48年革命 - よんじゅうはちねんかくめい

The revolutions that occurred simultaneously across Europe in 1848-49, including the February Revolution in France and the March Revolution in Germany, are collectively called the '48 Revolution or the 1848 Revolution. Individual revolutions are also sometimes called the '48 Revolution, but when referring to it as the '48 Revolution, the pan-European character of the revolution is emphasized.

The pan-European character of the 1848 Revolution can be explained by the European political and economic background at the time. The period between the French Revolution and the 1848 Revolution is called the "Age of Double Revolution" (Hobsbawm), and this period was determined by the Industrial Revolution in England and France, which symbolized the development of the capitalist economic system, and the ideas of the French Revolution, which still had a great influence.
