A play. One act, two scenes. Written by Mayama Seika. First performed at the Tokyo Kabukiza in April 1932. The cast includes Ichikawa Sadanji II as Yoriie, Nakamura Utaemon V as Ama-Mito-Masako, Ichikawa Sumizo VI (later Jukai 3) as Shigeyasu, and Ichikawa Shoten II as Kosuo. Scene 1 (In front of the gates of the Hokke-do Hall in Kamakura), Scene 2 (The Imperial Palace in the Stone Pot in Kamakura). Based on a rumor surrounding the sudden death of Minamoto no Yoritomo, the founder of the Kamakura Shogunate. The play depicts the young Shogun Yoriie, who is hurt as he tries to uncover the truth of his father's death, which has been kept secret out of affection for his family, Masako, who hides the truth in order to protect the Minamoto family and the Shogunate, and Hatakeyama Shigeyasu, who is in agony after slaying Yoritomo.
